TERRITORY
Since I arrived, this land has become my family. Caring for it is not just a job; it is an act of love.Onofrio Saggese – Head of Agriculture
Of lacustrine origin, the soil alternates between clays, sands, sandstones, marls of Castelnuovo dell’Abate and polygenic conglomerates originating from the Santa Fiora and Pietraforte formations.

The rhythm of the soil
The geological structure reflects the deformation processes of southern Tuscany, with soils shaped by sedimentation and tectonic modeling dating back around 7.5 million years.
Each plot contributes its own unique nuances, making every wine an authentic and distinctive expression of our terroir.

Our Vineyards
37 vineyard plots that stretch towards the South, Southeast, and Southwest.
To the South-east of Montalcino, today we extend over 110 hectares. In the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area, a mosaic of complex soils hosts 41 hectares dedicated to vine cultivation with altitudes ranging from 180 to 420 meters above the sea level. The remaining land hosts wooded areas, olive groves (around 800 trees), orchards and a vegetable garden that keep the biodiversity of the area alive.
To the East the boundary is marked by the Orcia River; to the south by Monte Amiata: an ancient dormant volcano that rises to 1,738 meters.
This silent giant plays a crucial role in shaping our microclimate: at night, cool breezes descending from its slopes refresh the vines, while during the day, the updrafts generated by the sun along its sides often divert storms, protecting the vineyards.
